It's been too long.

I don't even know the last time I blogged. I'll have to check after this post.

Life has been very good to me on a non-running front. I got a new job last September that I absolutely love. There is travel involved so getting settled into a routine is taking some time but I feel like I'm almost there.

Two months ago I was doing the Lydriad training program and was doing well building up my mileage until we got some major ice storms. From there it all went back downhill. I did join a gym to have a place to go when I couldn't go outdoors but I didn't make any effort to go once I joined. There were many reasons and a few lame excuses but this past week I finally got my butt over there.

Motivation:
  • I have been loosing weight by reducing my carbs and increases lean protiens, veggies and healthy carbs (like fruit).
  • I'm turning 40 in August
  • I've seen way to many recent pictures of myself where I look like hell
  • I miss running. Every day I think about it and how I wish I was out there running long.

My goal right now is to get back into shape. The spin class I did Tuesday shows how out of shape I really am! So here is my plan:

1. Run a mile a day*
2. Take the following classes at the gym to start with ( these work best with my schedule too):
  • Spin
  • Yoga
  • Pilates
  • Body Works plus Abs
Just from a couple days of doing this I feel so much better. I miss all those endorphines!

*The one mile a day will change but for now it will create the habit I need to get out there and do it. I can easily fit a mile in a day even with my travel schedule. I figure I am going to start small and build from there with no pressure to do it at a certain point.

Wish me luck!

Woo hoo! You're back running and blogging!!!

You can totally do this. Just remember how great you felt when you were running, not only physically but mentally.

Why the * next to "run a mile a day"????? You can run a mile a day. Go for it!!!!!!!

TB, I forgot to put the * on the last paragraph that says that the 1 mile run will increase.

It just seems such a short distance compared to what I used to run...
