I don't feel like working right now. It's one of those days, rainy and grey. I was up late Wednesday night and got up at 4:48 am Thursday morning to meet my running partner at work. Last night I was up late watching the Flyers (Let's Go Flyers!) and up early again this morning for work. Needless to say, I'm beat.
Wednesday nights 5 miler was interesting. I got lost (not the first time but this time I had no idea where I was). I had driven this route a week or so before. It was a segway off of my 9 miler and I assumed it would be around 5 or 6 miles. About 4 miles in I came to the end of a road. I couldn't remember if I should go right or left. Left went uphill, I didn't remember that so I went right. Nothing looked familiar but I had only driven it once. I kept going down, down, down. I started hearing traffic (if you knew where I lived you would know that this was odd). I came to the end of this road and saw a road in front of me that was pretty busy with no signs saying what it was. I went left (thinking that was the right direction home) but the road had a narrow shoulder and as I said was busy. I came to a bridge and a facing back the way I came. I looked at it and realized I was in Springtown. Ummm, not good. It would be at least 5 miles to get back home. I called Mike and he was almost home so I directed him to my location. It was quite an adventure and I'll consider this new route when I get to my longer distances. All together I ran 5.7 miles and it felt really good. My swollen knees held up fine which leads me to believe they are just badly bruised.
Thursday morning I met Kathy at her house at 5:45 and we headed to work. By the time we got our stuff up to our desks and went back downstairs to the gym it was almost 6:30. We did 3.06 at a nice pace (negative splits). My left knee was a little tweaky but not bad. At lunch I went down to the gym and did a set of arm weights before power yoga class. I let the instructor know I couldn't do anything that required me to be on my knees so she made adjustments to the program for me. The stretching and balancing felt sooo good.
Lunch today at my favorite Thai restaurant with Carrieann and Marianne (that's funny) then dinner at Mom and Dad's. I would really rather just go home and cuddle up in bed with Mike, Avery, Bella and Boots O'Malley but that's not happening so I'll just deal.
