It seems like Spring is finally arriving. We've had some very nice sunny days recently. With a new season I always find new energy and I'm excited to be active!

Last week was pretty successful for me on the fitness track. I got in a spin class, 2 yoga classes and a day on the elliptical. Plus Boots and I hit the pavement once. This past week hasn't been as successful. Mostly due to travel. Monday I had to go down to DC early so I didn't get to go to the gym. Tuesday morning I was up at 5:30 and got in some Sun Salutations but the rest of the week was a wash. I got home yesterday but was so busy working that I never left my desk until 3:00 when I had to get Avery and take her to swimming.

Today I'm taking her to swimming and then heading over to the gym. Got to keep the momentum going. It's funny when I work out I can get up really early. When I don't like this past week I slowly get to where I can barely get up.

Next week I'm home so I anticipate lots of exercise and some spring cleaning. I have to go get some plants in preparation for both the vegetable garden and the flower beds in the back. I won't be planting until Memorial Day but I want to get the plants while they are still available. I will just put them in the house until its time to go outside.

Ciao for now! Happy Weekend!

It's been too long.

I don't even know the last time I blogged. I'll have to check after this post.

Life has been very good to me on a non-running front. I got a new job last September that I absolutely love. There is travel involved so getting settled into a routine is taking some time but I feel like I'm almost there.

Two months ago I was doing the Lydriad training program and was doing well building up my mileage until we got some major ice storms. From there it all went back downhill. I did join a gym to have a place to go when I couldn't go outdoors but I didn't make any effort to go once I joined. There were many reasons and a few lame excuses but this past week I finally got my butt over there.

Motivation:
  • I have been loosing weight by reducing my carbs and increases lean protiens, veggies and healthy carbs (like fruit).
  • I'm turning 40 in August
  • I've seen way to many recent pictures of myself where I look like hell
  • I miss running. Every day I think about it and how I wish I was out there running long.

My goal right now is to get back into shape. The spin class I did Tuesday shows how out of shape I really am! So here is my plan:

1. Run a mile a day*
2. Take the following classes at the gym to start with ( these work best with my schedule too):
  • Spin
  • Yoga
  • Pilates
  • Body Works plus Abs
Just from a couple days of doing this I feel so much better. I miss all those endorphines!

*The one mile a day will change but for now it will create the habit I need to get out there and do it. I can easily fit a mile in a day even with my travel schedule. I figure I am going to start small and build from there with no pressure to do it at a certain point.

Wish me luck!
