I got out for a very nice 9 mile run at lunch. It was supposed to be 8 but I decided to go the longer way to avoid a bad hill since I had already done about 5 or 6 other ridiculously long steep hills on this new route. It's a very pretty run through the township watershed but it's just very very hilly. Tell me again why I decided to take up running when I moved to the top of a freakin' mountain! I was pleased, it wasn't too slow considering the hills either. My time was 1:43.
If I was lucky I would live on the bottom of the mountain and get the hard stuff done at the beginning so the 2nd half would be cake, unfortunately I have the opposite situation.
I have to say the lack of humidity makes me feel so much better. I did 8 something on Monday and the first 1/2 of it was the same as the first 1/2 of today's. I felt soooo much better today. It made me realize that the mileage wasn't what was wearing me out, it was the heat!
I also made another breakthrough today with my running. The route takes me up this road towards my house and its practically one 3 mile hill. I tried it last fall and couldn't run it, had to walk/run the whole way home. I've been avoiding any routes that end up there because I dreaded the road. Today I conquered it.
On the personal front things aren't as good. My father-in-law isn't doing well at all. Hopefully he will pull through. Each day its a new thing, one day he seems better the next bad and now it seems his recovery has taken a nose dive and we're back where we started. If you pray he could use your prayers, if not just your thoughts.

Holy shit. I've been camping...didn't realize your father in law was seriously in the hospital.
That's horrible!
Lots of prayers from my house.
Thanks Mandy!
I've been wondering about your FIL but keep forgetting to ask you. I'll keep all of you in my prayers.
