This has been such a busy weekend! I took Friday off to get things done around the house and was planning on getting my 10 miler done that day but only ended up with time for 4. Picked up Avery from daycare at around 4:30 and headed to Delaware to Alexis'. We got there and went out to dinner and then stopped at Sweet Lucy's for ice cream (its tradition that I have to have Sweet Lucy's and a bobbie everytime I go to see her).
The duathlon was great. I love watching multisport races. There's a lot more action then watching a long race where you are lucky if you see the person twice. It was great to see Lora. I haven't seen her in a long time. Alexis did great (like we knew she would the sandbagger)! After she collected her award (that's how good she did) we went to the Elmer diner for breakfast. Once we got back to Alexis' we went to the pool for a couple hours, picked up a bobbie and headed home. Avery was out from the time we left the pool so it was a quiet ride home.
Sunday I woke up and felt as if I was the one who had done a race the day before. I couldn't fully wake up and was napping with Boots O'Malley by 10am. Eventually I got my butt in gear and we showered and drove to the hospital to meet up with Mike and visit with his father. My sister-in-law and family had driven up from Virginia Beach the day before to visit him as well so we all hung around for a couple of hours then we brought my nieces home with us so they could play with Avery and eventually my MIL, SIL and BIL came back to the house for some pizza. They left around 9:00.
So like last weekend, I feel like I need a weekend right away to rest from my busy weekend. I have a hard time having every weekend be full of activity. I love getting out and doing things and seeing friends but I also want to be home relaxing and enjoying the scenery. This coming weekend should be a relaxing one, I can't wait!
Running wise I have 8 on schedule today. I pulled a nice chunk of glass out of my heal last night (must have gotten in there when I broke the martini shaker and by last night my whole foot was throbbing!) so hopefully it won't bother my run.
